Secondary School (Lumen Christi, All-Boys Catholic School):
Jakpo’s journey began at Lumen Christi, an all-boys Catholic secondary school where he first learned discipline, teamwork, and the strength of brotherhood. Those formative years instilled in him values that would anchor his path through academia and beyond.
Nigeria (Undergraduate Studies, Covenant University): He went on to study at Covenant University, one of Nigeria’s most prestigious institutions. More than academics, Covenant taught him the importance of presentation, excellence, and entrepreneurship. The experience shaped his mindset around creating his own path rather than waiting for opportunities.
United Kingdom (Postgraduate Education): In 2008, after working briefly at MultiChoice Nigeria, where he contributed to projects such as the Africa Magic 5th Anniversary, Jakpo traveled to the United Kingdom for postgraduate studies. He first completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Management at LIBT Brunel, sharpening his understanding of organizational structures and leadership. He then pursued a Master’s Degree in Marketing at Brunel University, specializing in branding and communication in global markets. His time abroad stretched his worldview, introducing him to diverse perspectives on media, communication, and the human experience. By the time he returned to Nigeria in 2013, he was equipped not only with degrees but also with a broadened horizon and an ambition to translate knowledge into lasting impact.
Beyond Business – Advocacy and Humanity: Jakpo is not just a strategist; he is an advocate for stories that matter. His work often pushes beyond profit, addressing culture, identity, and empowerment. One of his most impactful contributions has been in the area of mental health advocacy. He has consistently championed awareness, challenged stigma, and promoted open dialogue around mental well-being. His efforts extended into policy, where he played a pivotal role in the process that led to the passage of the Mental Health Bill in Nigeria, helping shape a framework that now supports individuals and communities across the nation.
Back in Nigeria, Jakpo’s career evolved into a blend of marketing, communication, and storytelling. He co-founded JamRock in 2015, a platform that brought fresh energy to Abuja’ entertainment and lifestyle scene. Over the years, he became known as The Rayven — a persona that represents vision, clarity, and the ability to rise above the noise to craft meaningful experiences.
